For the benefit of my blog subscribers (hello to you all!) and to any new readers (hello and welcome!), I thought I would give you a little update about the changes you will see to my blog and website.
This coming Autumn I will be launching my own sewing workshops in my local area of Solihull. These will be informal, small classes teaching people the basics of how to sew and use a sewing machine and a variety of workshops to progress people’s skills and make gorgeous things!! I have wanted to do this for some time but it has only been this year that I have had more time to dedicate to progressing my ideas and make plans. I am really excited about this as it will be combining my serious passion of sewing and also my love of teaching and bringing people together to learn. I have updated my ‘About me’ page which explains a little more about my background to this and what I have been up to in order to prepare for my new venture.
I have a new logo too…
and when my website went live last week this is what awaited me at home – complete with on brand coasters 🙂 🙂
So the overall website has changed to reflect the new business but I still have my blog within the website – this is something that was important to me and I definitely want to continue. For the most part it will still be me blogging about my makes as I find that so useful to reflect on my projects and learn from them. I also enjoy connecting with the online sewing community through the blog and inspiring others to have a go. I certainly get tons of inspiration from other sewing blogs. Hopefully those of you who are subscribers to the blog will continue to enjoy these posts. There will also be some blog posts about the workshops that I will be doing so watch this space for those and hope you find these interesting too.
I also now have a Facebook page for All about the sew which you can ‘like’ to stay up to date with the workshop news or any other sewing related Facebook type stuff! I am also on Twitter and Instagram. My email address and contact form is on my contact page.
So I hope that you continue to read and hopefully enjoy my blog. Posts have been slightly fewer and far between recently – I hope you can understand now why! I have very nearly finished a Simplicity shirt dress which I am looking forward to blogging about and have also made some alterations to a Love Sewing Ruby dress that I made at the end of last summer which has made it wearable so need to take some piccies of that!
So much to look forward to!
Until next time, thanks for reading and happy sewing!
