This workshop will run on 2 dates. You must be able to attend both dates to complete the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for those who have used a sewing machine before and can confidently thread the machine and bobbin. If you need a beginners class or a refresher then have a look at beginners classes available.
Come and learn how to sew a quilted advent calendar
Come along and learn how to make a beautiful quilted advent calendar. These calendars have pockets that can be filled with choccies/sweets/messages.
All materials included - this includes fabric panel, wadding, backing fabric, wooden dowel and ribbon/string for hanging. You will leave with an advent calendar that is ready for filling and hanging and will be treasured for years to come.
**There are 4 different designs to choose from (whilst stocks last) - please email me upon booking to let me know which design you would like to do**
1) Scandi design (as finished completed advent calendar in photo)
2) Santa and reindeer scene
3) Christmas tree
4) Snow village
You will learn:
- How to accurately cut out fabric
- How to sew on pockets
- How to sew box pleats (if your chosen calendar includes them)
- How to layer fabric and wadding for quilting
- How to sew simple quilting lines
What is included:
- All materials required to make the calendar ready for hanging and filling!!
- Full use of Janome sewing machines and sewing tools
- Tea/coffee

“I absolutely loved making my advent calendar and proudly hanging it up last December. The pockets allow you to fill it with anything you want - chocolate coins, sweets, messages, puzzle pieces. I will look forward to getting it out of the Xmas box each year. It’s a good project to learn some simple quilting techniques too. Having 6 hours to complete the project will hopefully mean you will have plenty of time to enjoy the process and start feeling Christmassy!! This would be really fun to do with friends too to join in the festive preparations together! “
