This workshop is suitable for those with basic machine skills (thread the machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch).
It involves using appliqué to sew shapes of one/multiple fabrics onto a different fabric into a pattern or picture. It is a great project for unleashing your creativity and using up fabric scraps. The photos are just examples of my ideas but feel free to design your own!!
They would make a fantastic handmade Christmas gift for someone or to proudly put on display at home and get out of the trimmings box each year.
You will learn:
- How to appliqué using Bondaweb and the sewing machine
- How to make an envelope cushion cover
Any hand sewing of embellishments may need to be finished off at home.
N.B. Although this is advertised as a Christmas cushion workshop, designs are not limited to Christmas – anything is possible, you choose!
Equipment and Materials:
Janome sewing machines and basic sewing tools provided to use.
White cotton fabric for the cushion cover will be provided. A selection of fabric remnants and trimmings will be available to choose from but please feel free to bring your own along.
