Come along and get to grips with sewing machine basics. Learn how to thread the machine, wind the bobbin, sew basic machine stitches (straight stitch, back stitch, zig zag), sew French seams and simple trouble shooting tips. Put these skills into practice by making a simple tote bag. No need to bring anything - just come along and have a go.
This simple tote bag is perfect for light shopping, folders or newspapers and for folding up into your handbag for those spontaneous trips to the shops. They would make gorgeous gifts too! Customise for male/female/young/old by just choosing the right fabric.

Lorna says:
“A tote bag is the perfect project for either a complete beginner sewist or someone looking to refresh their skills. Learn the basic stitches, straight lines and turning corners – core skills for progressing onto more challenging projects. Gain confidence using a sewing machine – that’s what it’s all about. These are perfect for keeping folded up in your handbag or in the boot of your car for saving the pennies when you shop. They also make a gorgeous gift for birthdays or even just for yourself!!”
