This workshop is suitable for those with basic machine skills (able to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, sew a straight stitch).
It involves using appliqué to sew pieces of one/multiple fabrics onto a different fabric into a pattern or picture. It is a great project for unleashing your creativity and using up fabric scraps. The photos are just examples of my ideas but feel free to design your own – anything is possible!!
They would make a fantastic bespoke handmade gift for someone or to proudly put on display at home.
You will learn:
- How to appliqué using Bondaweb and the sewing machine
- How to make an envelope cushion cover
Any hand sewing of embellishments may need to be finished off at home.
A cushion cover has been chosen for this workshop but once you know the technique, appliqué can be used to transform anything from PE bags, t-shirts, jackets….
Why not choose a Christmas theme for your cushion cover to make a fabulous addition to your Christmas trimmings?
Equipment and Materials:
Janome sewing machines and basic sewing tools provided to use.
White cotton fabric for the cushion cover will be provided. A selection of fabric remnants and trimmings will be available to choose from but please feel free to bring your own along.
Tea & Coffee included.
Cost £30
