Beginners knitting class

Come along and learn the basic knitting stitches in this beginners knitting class. Make samplers of a few different stitches to take away. Gain ideas and advice on your first sewing project (and make a start if you bring the relevant materials along and there is time)

This class is suitable for complete beginners or those in need of a refresher.

You will learn:

How to cast on
How to do a knit stitch
How to do a purl stitch
How to do garter and stocking stitches
How to cast off
How to join in a new colour
Tension of knitting and tension squares
How to follow a basic pattern
Different yarns and needles

What will be provided:

Knitting needles to use during the class
A selection of wool to use during the class
Tea/coffee

What to bring:

If you would like to bring your own needles to cast on a project and then take away to continue at home then please bring a pair of size 10 (3.25mm) needles with you and some wool.

“I have been lucky to have been taught how to knit by my Mum and grew up with my Mum and my Nan both being avid knitters. I find knitting extremely thereapeutic and it can get quite addictiuve! It is more portable than sewing so I love to be able to take a project on holiday with me and relax whilst getting stuck into a project.
